We hope you enjoyed learning a little about our boss.
Stay tuned for our interviews with Dean and Cheri.
Enjoy part two!
C+L - How did you create your salon culture?
T - Michauds culture has always been good. Its had its ups and downs but its good. I want respectful, open, wanting to build business, go the extra mile people.
C+L - What are your biggest accomplishments as a company? Or what are you the most proud of?
T - I'm most proud that we have humility and can self reflect. We always want to make things better. Our true mandate is to make a comfortable, loving, respectful safe environment. We want to make a job experience as good as it possibly can be yet always striving to be better. The BIA Award Nomination we received
last year was a HUGE honour. We are very proud of that.
C+L - Did you ever think 20 years was possible?
T - Yes. I have always thought if we continued to work hard that success was there for us.
C+L - Where do see Michauds going when you all retire?
Do you hope to keep it in the family?
T - I want to create an environment where eventually Cheri, Dean and I don't have to be here. I don't know about being fully retired. If I can be here 2 days a week just doing things, why retire? Our kids are so young, its hard to know if any of them would want to take over.
C+L - What does owing a business in Cloverdale mean to you?
T - It is very important to me. My grandfather built a dry cleaners in 1946 with his bare hands down the road from our salon. This community has given us everything. It is our mandate that we contribute to the community. We do our best to be as kind, friendly and appreciative to Cloverdale. Not a day goes by we don't think about how amazing it is, and how lucky we've been able to have grown with it.
C+L - Why did you choose the motto "All the style, without the attitude" ?
T - Viv choose that. It just hits the nail on the head. We want to be the place where people walk in and see put together professionals, a place where everyone is welcome.
C+L - What do you do when your not at the salon?
T - I'm a busy family guy. I coach my son's baseball team and my daughter is busy with dance. I like to keep fit. Running is important to me, it allows me to clear my head.
C+L - Were there any times you wanted to give up and walk away?
T - No, never.
